Endress + Hauser Breaks Ground on New Canadian Headquarters
Burlington, ON September 3rd, 2019 – Endress+Hauser Canada breaks ground on new Canadian headquarters
On August 29, Endress+Hauser officially broke ground on its new $28 million Customer Experience Centre in Burlington. When construction of the approximately 47,000 square foot facility is completed in 2020, it will provide customers from Manitoba to Atlantic Canada with a generously equipped, state-of-the-art training and support hub for selecting and familiarizing themselves with the company’s latest innovations for process automation.
In his welcoming remarks, Anthony Varga, CEO and General Manager of Endress+Hauser Canada Ltd, hailed the decision by the company’s Executive Board to fund the project, saying that it is “a strong endorsement of the continued growth and strong potential in the Canadian market.” He continued, “Providing great customer experiences is a key differentiator for Endress+Hauser. With a full-scale Process Training Unit (PTU) among other features, our new Customer Experience Centre will be an unrivaled asset for solidifying current relationships and starting new ones by sharing the company’s valuable process knowledge. And by pursuing bold sustainability goals for this exceptional facility – such as LEED Gold green building certification and net zero energy and emissions – we are aspiring to set a new standard for progressive corporate leadership for our industry and community.” The centre will be the first privately owned net zero, carbon neutral building in Canada.
Burlington Economic Development has worked with Endress+Hauser since Fall 2018 to help them secure a new site in Burlington. “We are excited and proud to see Endress+Hauser expand in Burlington, said Anita Cassidy, Acting Executive Director of Burlington Economic Development. “This new facility is almost double the size of their existing space and will bring 40 additional highly skilled jobs to the community while retaining the existing 80.”
At the groundbreaking ceremony, which was attended by more than 100 people, Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward welcomed the Endress+Hauser expansion, highlighting their investment in clean energy: “Endress+Hauser’s commitment to green initiatives benefits everyone in our community. Burlington recently declared a climate emergency and seeing Endress+Hauser’s investment to help fight climate change sets a great example for other businesses and organizations.”
The groundbreaking event took place on August 29th and was attended by over 100 people. Companies looking to expand, start-up or locate to Burlington are encouraged to connect with Burlington Economic Development.
