Burlington Economic Development launches new InvestBurlington.ca website to better serve businesses online, and to continue to attract new investment to the community
November 4, 2020 – Burlington, ON – Today, Burlington Economic Development is pleased to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website, InvestBurlington.ca.
With a focus on storytelling and user experience, the new website features dedicated pages for Burlington’s key sectors and easy to navigate tools and resources that provide all of the qualitative and quantitative information businesses and investors need to locate or grow a business in Burlington. The site also features a number of success stories and testimonials from businesses that call Burlington home.
“The new InvestBurlington.ca website will help Burlington put our best foot forward in attracting, retaining, and supporting business in Burlington,” said Anita Cassidy, Executive Director of Burlington Economic Development. “We set out to create a site that is distinct from our peers by allowing white space, fresh and distinct colours, and powerful images. The site doesn’t just present data and facts, it tells Burlington’s story in a lighthearted and authentic way. It tells the story of what makes us Canada’s number one community,” she said.
The new InvestBurlington.ca website is seen as a pivotal enabler for achieving the goals laid out in the City’s strategic plan and the first focus area of the City of Burlington’s Vision to Focus work plan: Increasing Economic Prosperity and Community Responsive Growth Management. The COVID-19 pandemic also intensified the need for a stronger digital presence since customer service, as well as investment attraction has shifted online.
“Now more than ever, we need to make sure we’re connecting with our audience online. Not only has frontline customer service moved to a digital model, but so has much of what we are doing to attract new investment to our community,” said Randall Smallbone, Chair of the Burlington Economic Development Board of Directors. “The new website is a key tool for connecting with our business community and our partners, as well as in reaching new audiences and attracting investment to the community.”
Investburlington.ca features elements that were popular on the previous site, including the site selector tool, BurlingtonSites, and the data centre. The new site also provides information on how Burlington Economic Development is continuing to support businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic, including the Burlington Economic Recovery Network, Digital Service Squad and Burlington Safe Restart grant program.
